Healin’ Hollers Summer’s Scent Insect Repellent – Summer’s insects used to be met with chemically-laden insect repellents. Now it’s the more natural scent of Citronella, Eucalyptus, and Pennyroyal. These three essential oils are a great defense against mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, and other biting, stinging, bloodsucking critters.
Mountain Mint, renowned for its insect repelling qualities, grows in profusion here in the Ozarks. We sun-distill this mint in the Sweet Almond Oil before adding the essential oils. The oil provides an effective barrier as the ticks, chiggers, and other crawling insects have a difficult time penetrating the oil.

Summer’s Scent is a pleasant smelling oil that not only repels and protects against insects, but also moisturizes and tones your skin.

    Wayfaring Traveler (verified owner)

I lived on a beautiful island, but with mosquitoes, ticks, no-see-um’s and black flies in the summer months. My two hiking companions did not want to smell like essential oils, though I offered to share. Only I used Summer’s Scent and I got no, repeat, no bites of any kind.

My friends both went down with Lyme’s Disease, one a very bad case indeed.

I carried a bottle of Summer’s Scent in my day pack, another in my purse, and one in a basket by the front door which I shared with guests.

I apply it to neck, behind ears, wrists, ankles. The spray lasts well and is non-irritating. I usually spray it into a palm and smear it on. It works better than anything else I’ve tried.
